because on one hand it’s awesome and FUCK YEAH GILLIAN for slapping the shit out of the man who raped her when she was barely a pre-teen.

but also, sad post-stroke Commodore’s face and his little muffled cries of pain were just … difficult? idk.

no one on this show can have nice thingsx

#ugh so i hate the commodore obvs and have never really cared about him as a character even before we learn that he's a disgusting pedophile rapist with bad hair decsions #but also this scene made me sad #sad for both of them #because gillian is literally just so fucked up from all of the horrible shit she's been through #i.e. being raped at 13 and having a baby #and her sense of family is so distorted #and he has never shown any regret #but also his little post-stroke face makes me a little sad #just because he looks so confused and daklsdkja idk old people #i wish gillian had done this a lot sooner #but i guess this is the first time she has felt ~empowered~ enough to take him on? #which is still also really fucking sad and awful #poor gillian #no one on this show can have nice things #gillian darmody #dabney coleman #gretchen mol #boardwalk empire
