Reporter: I have a question to Robert and to Scarlett. Firstly to Robert, throughout Iron Man 1 and 2, Tony Stark started off as a very egotistical character but learns how to fight as a team. And so how did you approach this role, bearing in mind that kind of maturity as a human being when it comes to the Tony Stark character, and did you learn anything throughout the three movies that you made?
And to Scarlett, to get into shape for Black Widow did you have anything special to do in terms of the diet, like did you have to eat any specific food, or that sort of thing?
Scarlett: How come you get the really interesting existential question, and I get the like, “rabbit food” question?
The respect given to you if you’re a man in the entertainment business, and the respect given to you if you’re a woman in the entertainment business: all perfectly summed up in one idiotically thought out line of questioning.

This is an ad that was published in Pennsylvania. It was yanked following public outcry.
I hope that one day I will live in a world where we stop slut-shaming girls into thinking that their rape/sexual assault is their fault because they were stupid and slutty enough to have a few beers. Not only is it insulting and degrading and disgusting to females, but it is also insulting to men, insinuating that each and every man does not know the difference between right and wrong, between rape and consent, and that, when presented with a drunk female, he has no alternative but to fuck her and leave her dazed and confused on the bathroom floor.
I want to live in a world where little girls are not pinkified, but where little girls who like pink are not punished for it, either. We can certainly talk about the social pressures surrounding gender roles, and the concerns that people have when they see girls and young women who appear to be forced into performances of femininity by the society around them but let‘s stop acting like they have no agency and free will. Let‘s stop acting like women who choose to be feminine are somehow colluders, betraying the movement, bamboozled into thinking that they want to be feminine. Let‘s stop denying women their own autonomy by telling them that their expressions of femininity are bad and wrong

Demonizing femininity is just another way of saying masculinity is better, which is, surprise, sexist.

the video is amazing and man am i glad to be a rihanna fan.
^
wowowowowowowow. I deleted a lot of really good comments for the sake of not killing everyone’s dash, but yeah. This video is pretty awesome and I appreciate that it depicts a very realistic version of rape i.e. it’s not always a creepy old dude breaking into your house. I love and appreciate everything about this and I’m only sad that it’s getting negative feedback. As an artist who has first hand experience with physical abuse, I think Rhianna is very brave to express herself in this way. Bravaaa <3
I was listening to Mika Brazinski talk about her new book yesterday - which is all about “knowing your value” as a female in the workplace - and it really struck a chord with me.
She talked about Joe Scarborough (her co-anchor) was making fourteen times what she was making, and how it took her a lot of time to 1. work up the nerve to confront someone about it and 2. actually manage to argue her worth successfully and get equal pay.
She also said something about how females are too apologetic in the workplace, which I am SO guilty of. It’s so easy! “Hey, sorry to bug you but —-,” or “Heyyy I know you’re busy but could you…” I don’t know if that stems from my willingness to try and keep people happy and be liked, but as the lovely Mika put it, “we shouldn’t really care if they like us.”
Amen, sister girl.

how is this chivalry? ‘YOU DIDN’T RAPE ME WHEN I WAS PASSED OUT. YOURE SUCH A GENTLEMAN’
fucking no. that’s just being a normal human instead of a fucking misogynistic rapist, okay. i don’t even know how to explain what i think about this.
We have been conditioned by the normalization of sexual assault, such that we feel gratitude when we are not raped. .
That’s fucking sick.
this makes me sad, tbh
I am so sick of this idea that I’m supposed to pat men on the back for not touching me without consent.
Chivalry, noun, plural -ries for 6.1.the sum of the ideal qualifications of a knight, including courtesy, generosity, valor, and dexterity in arms.2.the rules and customs of medieval knighthood.3.the medieval system or institution of knighthood.4.a group of knights.5.gallant warriors or gentlemen: fair ladies and noble chivalry.6.Archaic . a chivalrous act; gallant deed.
No where in the definition is “very politely not raping you when you are wasted” listed. Hm. BETTER UPDATE THAT.
